Vidya Murthy, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Executive MBA program, shares what she learned about leadership on a NOLS mountaineering course in Alaska. Working with a team of fellow Wharton students, Vidya gained experience leading in uncertainty as well as new insight into her own leadership style.

Georgetown MBA Students Reflect on Rocky Mountain Leadership Trek

In August 2018, nine students from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business backpacked through Wyoming’s Wind River Range on an eight-day NOLS Custom Education expedition. Students reported that participating in a guided leadership progression in the outdoors was a valuable complement to learning in a traditional classroom setting.
