LANDER, WY—The National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) is excited to announce its second Exploration Film Tour. Come celebrate the wonder of the outdoors through film! The Exploration Film Tour is a series of free events hosted by NOLS featuring six outstanding short films including An American Ascent (Distill, 2013). In 2016, the Exploration Film Tour will share stories that aim to inspire adventurers to pursue their dreams, from reaching remote summits, to paddling the world's oceans, or just exploring their own backyard.

As part of this partnership, NOLS will be a sponsor of both the the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival as well as the Banff Adventure Filmmakers’ Workshop.
John Gans, NOLS executive director, accepted the award at the Gov. Mead’s Wyoming Economic Forum in Cheyenne.
“Credit goes to the countless staff and graduates who have changed the world through teaching and applying the lessons of a NOLS course,” Gans said.
The award recognized, “NOLS’ 50 years of dedicated and inspirational service developing outdoor skills, leadership, and environmental ethics” and for the school’s “passionate service to Wyoming, the nation, and the world.”

LANDER, WYO—On Friday, Oct. 9, the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) awarded its 2015 Stewardship Award to Bob Ratcliffe, Chief of the National Park Service’s (NPS) Division of Conservation and Outdoor Recreation in Washington, D.C. The NOLS Stewardship Award, presented annually since 1990, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional stewardship of public lands and the environment.
During its 50th anniversary celebrations Oct. 9, the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) presented its 2015 Alumni Service Award to Dr. Herbie Ogden. The Alumni Service Award is given to a devoted alumnus who has served the school in exemplary ways as NOLS pursues its mission to teach leadership, conservation and outdoor skills.
